I am...

Copy out your poem and email it to this address...dormerswellsyear9@googlemail.com

I am

I am who I am because of everyone.

I am my mate who never speaks and the one who won't shut up. I am my older sister and unfortunately my younger brother. I am all the girls I've kissed and all the ones I will.

Reading and Writing Fiction
In this unit you will explore the art of fiction. You will consider the techniques writers use to tell successful stories and you will write a piece of fiction.

Speaking and Listening
1) The class will discuss the qualities of a good story and will collaborate as oral storytellers.

Reading

3) You will consider the effects of writers’ techniques

4) You will read a fiction novel of your own choice and complete a short task from the Wider Reading Assignment list.

Writing
5) You will write a story. In the process of writing you will:

explore ways of opening, structuring and ending narratives and produce a plan of your story’s structure (e.g. flow chart or mind map)
experiment with narrative perspective and create an appropriate narrator for your story
use a range of literary techniques and consider the effects of different types of word, sentence and paragraph.
produce at least two drafts and comment on the changes you make

Presentation
